Hallowed By Cynthia Hand

Hallowed
Author: Cynthia Hand
Pages: 403
Rating: 5/5

For months Clara Gardner trained to face the fire from her visions, but she wasn't prepared for the choice she had to make that day. And in the aftermath, she discovered that nothing about being part angel is straightforward as she thought.

Now, torn between her love for Tucker and her complicated feelings about the roles she and Christian seem destined to play in a world that is both dangerous and beautiful, Clara struggles with a shocking revelation: Someone she loves is going to die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.

In this compelling sequel to UNEARTHLY, Cynthia Hand captures the joy of first love, the anguish of loss, and the confusion of becoming who you are.
HALLOWED is the second book to Cynthia Hand's Unearthly. I really, and I mean really, loved Unearthly so I was anxiously awaiting the next book! After reading Hallowed I can confidently say that it was even better than the first book! *squeals with excitement*

What I Loved...

It's really hard to write out all the things that I loved about Hallowed without giving to much away! For one, I loved seeing Clara and Christian grow closer together in their relationship. Although, yes, I love Tucker, Christian.....is just better! Finally, we get to see a kiss from these two (ooh la la, va va voom!). I don't know about you guys, but I've been anxiously awaiting that moment for the longest time. And now, after reading the ending, I'm thinking we may be seeing  more between these two in the next book. Sorry Team Tucker bookworms (....but not really!).

  *Spoiler Alert*

I loved all of the surprises that Hallowed gave. One of the biggest ones was being introduced to Clara's angel dad. Oh yeah?! Clara's dad is an angel- making Clara 3/4 angel! Blows. My. Mind. It was also so sweet to get a glimpse at the relationship Clara's parents have.

Other amazing parts included learning about Jeffery's purpose and the great scenes leading up to Clara's mom's death. There was so much we learned in this book that it's hard to list them all!!!

The Cover...

Like the cover for Unearthly, Hallowed was just as pleasing to the eye. It gives off an intriguing eeriness that I just love seeing on my bookshelf. A great book + a great cover= complete awesomeness!

Favourite Quotes...

“Just so you know, this is the last time I ever trust you," I say.
"But you're so cute all covered in snow."
"Shut up and help me find my ski." We search through the powder for a while, but don't locate my missing ski. After ten fruitless minutes I'm convinced that the mountain has eaten it. -Clara and Christian

This is the part where I kiss you. - Christian

“This is isn't going to become one of those creepy situations where you show up at all hours of the night to watch me sleep, is it?" he asks playfully.” -Tucker

Overall...

Hallowed made me laugh, cry, scream and giggle with giddiness all at the same time- making it an extraordinary sequel to Unearthly. Hallowed receives my bookworm rating of 5/5 stars. I have very high expectations for book three, but after reading Hallowed, I have no doubt Cynthia Hand will give us bookworms exactly what we want. Be sure to check out the book trailer below! If you loved Unearthly then you should definitely get Hallowed.....like right now! Let me know your thoughts in the comments, through twitter or send me a good old fashioned e-mail! Until next time, keep reading!

Caitlin <3
