   REMATCH is the first book in author Janine Caldwell's debut YA series The Vortex Series. After reading Rematch, I'm very surprised that this series isn't as well-known as it deserves to be! I have become completely captivated by the world Janine Caldwell has created.

   Rematch captures your attention from the very beginning. Immediately after reading the first chapter I was hooked! The story moves along at a pace that allows you to become completely engulfed in the "vortex" world very quickly. 

   Those of you that have read some of my other reviews know that I am a complete sucker for a good-old doomed romance. Rematch definitely has one of those *round of applause, round of applause* ! Rematch essentially revolves around the connection and relationship between Cassie and Trent (AKA. Jeremy). Their first meeting started off with a strong intensity that continued to grow throughout the course of the book. Although I sometimes felt the relationship was progressing maybe a little to quickly, by the end of the book I was rooting for this duo. There were definitely a good number of swoon-worthy, blush-tastic scenes that kept my inner romantic very happy :)

   Aside from the romance, this book contained a super-natural "being" that I have never read about before- time travelers. But not just any kind of time travelers, no, no,  super-hero, save the day type of time travelers! Trent, being the super good looking time traveler that he is, added the supernatural factor that I crave for in all the books I read. With time travelers being such a unique supernatural topic, it made the book that much more refreshing and interesting to read. Two thumbs up!

   I can certainly say that the last third of this book was the most climatic and enjoyable part of the book. The plot took an interesting (and excruciating) turn of events that had me screaming inside! Having this part of the book told from Trent's POV also allowed us to gain a better understanding of his character and his feelings for Cassie. The ending left me both relieved and anxious for the next book- you'd have to read it to understand what I mean.

Overall...

   Overall Rematch was a captivating first book to a promising series! The romance is hot, the plot is unique, and the guy is pretty damn fine :) I'm so grateful that I was given the opportunity to read this book- it was a fast paced, addicting read that has me looking forward to book two. The second book, DOUBLE FAULT, is currently available on Amazon and BarnesandNobles! If you haven't heard of this series before than you should all check it out- I'll definitely be keeping my eye on Janine Caldwell to see what other goodies she has in store for us! Keep Reading!
