Memory Lane Monday: Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

Yes, it is that time of the week. The day we dread and wish would never come- Mondays. *Wipes tear* But have no fear, Memory Lane Monday is here! Every Monday, here at TheYABookworm, I'll do a special post called Memory Lane Monday. What's that you ask? Memory Lane Monday is a once-a-week post where I (or any other bloggers that wish to participate)  choose one book that I've previously read to be featured on that day. From the book chosen, I will pick two of my favourite quotes and write a little blurb containing my quick thoughts on the book. The books that I choose will not be books I've reviewed- since I've read so many books, I want to share with you my opinions on ones that I won't get the chance to fully review (because seriously, rereading dozens of books would take a year...or two)! Be sure to participate by leaving your "Memory Lane Monday" in the comments, or a link to your blog post with the hash-tag #YAMemoryLaneMonday on twitter :D

This Week's Memory Lane Monday...
Harry Potter Series By: J.K. Rowling

Top Two Favourite Quotes...
#1 “One can never have enough socks," said Dumbledore. "Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn't get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books.”

#2 “Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”
After talking about the impact Twilight had on Y.A. fiction a couple weeks back, I knew I could not go much longer without featuring the legendary Harry Potter series! I'm not really going to talk about what the book(s) are about because I'm sure 99.9% of you have either read the books or watched the movie before! Harry Potter has always held a special place in my heart- I read all the books when I was younger and just recently experienced the emotional roller coaster that came along with the final film last year. It is a series loved by many across the entire world!
I think what makes this series such a special one is the fact that, because it's reached so many people, it is literally everywhere! Between the Harry Potter theme park in Universal Studios Orlando (which I was at just recently- AWESOME) and the online community of fans on Pottermore, Harry Potter has become a modern day classic that children will still be reading years and years from today. I mean , this series is so huge it was even a  part of this year's Summer Olympic Opening Ceremony in London on July 27, 2012!

Not only are the books popular, but the film franchise has brought so many new fans to this magical world. The films are truly something special the Harry Potter fandom are, and will continue to be, absolutely proud of.

So before I go and start ranting, I'm going to end this Memory Lane Monday here. It truly is difficult to put this series' effect on people into words- it is something that must me experienced to truly understand! A quick shout out to my Harry Potter obsessed best friends- I love you crazies, this Memory Lane Monday is for you guys *muah*

A quick note about the video above: Every single time I watched the Harry Potter movies in theatre, I got goosebumps whenever the Harry Potter logo appeared (especially when I watched Deathly Hallows Part 2- the music almost made me cry)! Did anyone else ever feel that way....or am I just strangely emotional? Be sure to let me know in the comments your thoughts on the Harry Potter series! Which was your favourite book? How has the series impacted you? See you next Monday!

Your Y.A. Bookworm,
Caitlin <3
