Will love conquer all?
Nora and Patch thought their troubles were behind them. Hank is gone and they should be able to put his ugly vendetta to rest. But in Hank's absence, Nora has become the unwitting head of the Nephilim and must finish what Hank began. Which ultimately means destroying the fallen angels - destroying Patch.
Nora will never let that happen, so she and Patch make a plan: lead everyone to believe they have broken up, and work the system from the inside. Nora will convince the Nephilim that they are making a mistake in fighting the fallen angels, and Patch will find out everything he can from the opposing side. They will end this war before it can even begin.
But the best-laid plans often go awry. Nora is put through the paces in her new role and finds herself drawn to an addictive power she never anticipated.
As the battle lines are drawn, Nora and Patch must confront the differences that have always been between them and either choose to ignore them or let them destroy the love they have always fought for.
Finale is the fourth and final instalment in the Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick. I have been a diehard fan of the Hush Hush series since the very beginning- so although I was really excited to get some more Patch in my life, I was trying really hard not to read through it too quickly because I knew I'd be heartbroken once I finished (what can I say, I'm terrible at saying goodbye to my fictional families :( I am happy to say though that Finale left me completely satisfied- bookworm fans won't be disappointed !
Now I'll admit, I wanted to strangle Nora a few times yelling "what are you doing, you crazy, crazy girl?!" Her character goes through a lot of mental (and I guess in some ways, physical) struggles that lead her to making some not-so-wise choices. On the bright side, it is through these struggles that she becomes the strong, awesome, kick ass heroine we all know her to be!
I'm not going to lie, my favourite part about this series is obviously the relationship between Patch and Nora. Patch continued to be the sexy fallen angel I've loved throughout the series- making me smile with giddiness more than just a few times. I also want to point out that Becca handled the next stage in their relationship in a very YA appropriate way. Even though I would have loved a bit more than we got (especially since what's lead up to it has been nothing but steamy) I still think it was done well. As for Patch's inability to feel Nora's touch..well...your just going to have to read to find out whether or not that little dilemma is solved :)
The ending was incredibly beautiful- I don't even think those words describe it well enough. Even though someone does die (yes, you read that correctly), everybody still gets a fairytale ending! We also get a small glimpse into our favourite characters' futures.....and let me just say....it made me shed a few tears (okay, maybe more than just a few). I definitely recommend that you grab a tissue box to have by your side, because your going to need it.....I might just need a few tissues right now just thinking about it....:'(
“I want to wake up with you every morning and fall asleep beside you each night,” Patch told me gravely. “I want to take care of you, cherish you, and love you in a way no other man ever could. I want to spoil you — every kiss, every touch, every thought, they all belong to you. I’ll make you happy. Every day, I’ll make you happy.”
An ironic smile crept to my mouth. "You trust Scott?"
"I trust you," he answered in a husky voice that made me feel warm and slippery inside.
Patch backed me into a tree and kissed me, hard.
I regained my breath. "Boys everywhere take note: That was a kiss."
His face grew serious. "I know I can't feel your touch, but I feel your love Nora. Inside me. It means everything to me. I wish I could feel you the same way you feel me, but I have your love. Nothing will ever outweigh that. Some people go their entire lives never feeling the emotions you've given me. There is no regret in that."
Overall I am incredibly happy with this ending to the Hush Hush series- Becca Fitzpatrick finished off the series in a way that left me both satisfied and craving for more. I honestly can't believe that I will never go to the bookstore again to pick up Patch and Nora's latest adventure! Have you read Finale? What do you think about the ending?
