Memory Lane Monday: Matched by Ally Condie

Yes, it is that time of the week. The day we dread and wish would never come- Mondays. *Wipes tear* But have no fear, Memory Lane Monday is here! Every Monday, here at TheYABookworm, I'll do a special post called Memory Lane Monday. What's that you ask? Memory Lane Monday is a once-a-week post where I (or any other bloggers that wish to participate)  choose one book that I've previously read to be featured on that day. From the book chosen, I will pick two of my favourite quotes and write a little blurb containing my quick thoughts on the book. The books that I choose will not be books I've reviewed- since I've read so many books, I want to share with you my opinions on ones that I won't get the chance to fully review (because seriously, rereading dozens of books would take a year...or two)! Be sure to participate by leaving your "Memory Lane Monday" in the comments, or a link to your blog post with the hash-tag #YAMemoryLaneMonday on twitter :D
This Week's Memory Lane Monday...
Matched By: Ally Condie

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

Top Two Favourite Quotes...
#1 “But if you were Matched," I say softly, "What do you think she'd be like?"
"You," he says, almost before I've finished. "You.”

#2 “Our time together feels like a storm, like a wild wind and rain, like something too big
to handle but too powerful to escape.”

In celebration of the release of REACHED (Book #3) I thought it would be the perfect time to feature MATCHED- the first instalment in the Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie. Matched was the first Dystopian novel I read after reading the Hunger Games. Now, I will say that I really did love the Hunger Games, but Matched is what locked in my "Dystopian Love."

Matched gives readers the best of dystopian as well as a fangirl addicting love triangle that divides readers into two teams...Team Xander and Team Ky! I wish I could say I had a hard time choosing which team I'm a supporter of but, I'm not going to lie, my loyalties quickly lied with with Ky (what can I say, that boy does things to me....) !

The plot of the story was actually quite unique when I was originally reading this book for the first time a few years ago. Since then I have read quite a bit of Dystopian and have found similar plot points, but for the most part, Matched is a very original YA novel!

I would definitely recommend Matched to any Dystopian lover- especially to fans of Veronica Roth's Divergent trilogy (which is one of my absolute favourite series)! On November 13 (AKA. Tomorrow !) the final instalment in the Matched Trilogy will be available for our reading pleasure, so be sure to be on the lookout for my review! Have you read Matched? Are you excited for Reached? Be sure to let me know in the comments below! See you next Monday!

  2. With regards to the financing cost of auto title credits, rates depend on nearby, state and government laws. Nearby, State and Federal governments have the specialist to direct these rates too. Because of this, take note of that auto title crediting firms are in strict adherence to these laws and controls. Check Cashing Oceanside
