For Alexis and Alex life has been great. They have loving parents, great friends and live a life every teenager dreams. However, they are adopted and Alexis struggles with wanting to know who their real parents are and not wanting to hurt her adopted parents. Then, a stunning guy moves across the street from them. One who has a secret past and seems to know things about Alexis. One who does mysterious things and leads her to other mysterious persons. One who pushes her to discover her extraordinary birth family and the truth between mythology and religion.
     Lunangelique is the first instalment in a new series by author Kristin Campbell. I guess I'll start off by saying that Lunangelique was one of my favourite review requests of the year! Lunangelique focuses on angels and gods- a personal favourite paranormal theme of mine (because lets be honest, angels can be very, very sexy)! The novel also moves along at a pace that will make time literally fly by, I loved this book so much =)

     There is a huge love element in Lunangelique's storyline- and you all know that I LOVE love stories! Although there are many fictional hotties in this book, there is one that stands out- Cole! Not only did Cole constantly make me swoon, but the relationship between him and Lexi (Alexis) was so adorable. Their chemistry is absolutely amazing! Although their relationship started and progressed a lot faster than most fictional couples', it didn't bother me at all because they are just so perfect together!

     Aside from Lexi and Cole's relationship, I love many other relationships in this novel. For one, I loved the dynamic between Lexi and her twin brother Alex. It was nice seeing how close they were and how far they would go to comfort and protect one another. I also loved how involved Lexi's best friend, Kaitlyn, was in the plot. In addition to being Lexi's BFF, she is also Alex's girlfriend and is kept in the super natural loop- meaning she actually knows what's going on (which is very rare in Y.A.- usually the BFF is left in the dark)!

     The ending of this book completely shattered my heart into itty-bitty pieces *cries* Obviously I'm not going to tell you what the ending is because that would be a huge spoiler- and spoilers are a no no! But yes the ending was incredibly cruel....it was one of those times where you wish there was such thing as a chill pill!

Favourite Quotes...

"And now, the words that were so hard to say earlier. The words that, before, were frightening to say, came out so freely. "I love you."

~~~~~
"He is standing with his back to me so I quietly walk over to sit on one of the upright chairs in his living room. I'm so mesmerized by the sway of his body as he is drawn in to the piece. I know how he feels. Your body just gives into the music until you feel like you have become one with it. It's an escape from reality. Like the only reality there is in those moments are the sons and feel of the music..."
Overall...
     Overall I absolutely loved every page of Lunangelique. Once I started reading there was no going back because the story just sucks you right in! I'm looking forward to reading book two, Sleeping Gods ! Have you read Lunangelique yet? Are you  obsessed  with Lexi and Cole? Be sure to let me know in the comments below! Keep Reading!
