Memory Lane Monday: Masquerade by Melissa De La Cruz

Yes, it is that time of the week. The day we dread and wish would never come- Mondays. *Wipes tear* But have no fear, Memory Lane Monday is here! Every Monday, here at TheYABookworm, I'll do a special post called Memory Lane Monday. What's that you ask? Memory Lane Monday is a once-a-week post where I (or any other bloggers that wish to participate)  choose one book that I've previously read to be featured on that day. From the book chosen, I will pick two of my favourite quotes and write a little blurb containing my quick thoughts on the book. The books that I choose will not be books I've reviewed- since I've read so many books, I want to share with you my opinions on ones that I won't get the chance to fully review (because seriously, rereading dozens of books would take a year...or two)! Be sure to participate by leaving your "Memory Lane Monday" in the comments, or a link to your blog post with the hash-tag #YAMemoryLaneMonday on twitter :D

This Week's Memory Lane Monday...
Masquerade By: Melissa De La Cruz
Schuyler Van Alen is starting to get more comfortable with her newfound vampire powers, but she still has many unanswered questions. A trip to Italy in search of her grandfather only serves to make things more confusing. What secrets are the leaders of The Committee hiding? Meanwhile, back in New York, preparations are feverishly underway for the famous Four Hundred Ball. In true Blue Blood fashion, the ball is totally fab, complete with masks--and hidden behind this masquerade is a revelation that will change the course of a young vampire's destiny.
The thrilling sequel in Melissa de la Cruz's vampire mythology has all the glamour, attitude, and vampire lore that made the first book a hit.

Top Two Favourite Quotes...
#1 “White for light. White for love. White for forever.”

#2 "When Schuyler entered the St. Regis Ballroom, the whole room stood still. The guests stared at her as she stood by the entrance, illuminated under the spotlight, uncertain about where to go next. A few gasps could be heard from the crowd.

Jack Force, for one, couldn't take his eyes off of her.

Lik almost everybody in the room, for one brief moment, he had believed that Gabrielle, Allegra Van Alen, had returned to them.

If you've read my Memory Lane Monday for Blue Bloods (the first book in the Blue Bloods series) then you probably already know that I am definitely a huge fan of this series. When I first read the series I bought the first three books all together, and I seriously devoured them!

One of the reasons I love Masquerade so much is the fact that it contains quite a few of my "ultimate favourite scenes" from the series. The Blue Lagoon photo shoot, the masquerade ball and the flower scene are just a few of those favourites!

I'm not going to lie, seeing the connection between Jack and Schuyler grow was probably one of the best parts of this book for me.....of course, for Oliver fans, this is probably your least favourite part....luckily I'm a Jack fan ! :) I don't know what it is, but the chemistry between Jack and Schuyler is not only incredible, but it is also very different from any other YA couple out there. There's something deeper between the two of them that just blossoms more and more in each book. I think one of the things that makes their relationship so different is that Schuyler is a very independent heroine- Jack and Schuyler consider each other equals, making the dynamic between the two of them unique and mature, but just as addicting!

Have you read Masquerade? Are you a Team Jack or Oliver supporter?  Be sure to let me know in the comments below! Keep Reading!
