The moment every Blue Bloods fan has been waiting for finally came on Tuesday-- the final instalment in the Blue Bloods series, Gates of Paradise, was released! *whoop whoop* Aside from being excited for the Gates of Paradise's release, I've also been doing a lot of squealing as I come to the terms that, yes, I'm on the Gates of Paradise blog tour, and yes, I interviewed Melissa de la Cruz ! :D *starts epic dancing*
Best Thursday ever?! ....I think so !

Be sure to check out the awesome GIVEAWAY at the end of this interview =)

{Interview}

Hi Melissa!
Welcome to The Y.A. Bookworm Blogger! I've been a die-hard, squealing fan of the series for many years now, so it's an absolute honour to have you here!

Here at The Y.A. Bookworm Blogger, I like to participate in a weekly meme hosted by YABound called Swoon Thursday (a meme where each week, from the book you are currently reading, you share a quote that made you swoon). If Gates of Paradise was being featured, which quote would have bookworms everywhere fanning themselves?

He clasped her to him and they fell backward to the floor, and he was kissing her, and she was kissing him with a passion that surprised even her. He was smiling. He was so handsome and brave, and he held her as if he would never let her go.

Author Melissa de la Cruz

(I can't say who "he" was as it's a major spoiler!)

I watched Blue Bloods- The Fan Story, and in it you say that you've known the ending to the series for eight years! What can readers expect from Gates of Paradise? Will there be any unexpected revelations? And how do you think fans will react?

I think there are a bunch of revelations that I've been keeping close to the vest for a while now, that will be shocking… I think they will be surprised and shocked and will need to take a deep breath… emotions run wild in this finale! J

When looking at the Blue Bloods series as a whole, which scene would you say was your favourite to write? Why?

I've always had a soft spot for Masquerade. I loved that book, the setting, Lawrence Van Alen and Kingsley step on the stage in that book. That was a linchpin book, readers got hooked on the series after Masquerade. I think it was when I truly grew as a storyteller.

After spending so many years with these characters, how did it feel writing the last chapter of Gates of Paradise? What will you miss the most about the entire experience?
Hanging out with my characters, slipping into their skin, hearing their voices in my head. I will miss that. I'll miss the adrenaline of writing the action sequences too, and all the twists and turns in the story. Not to worry, there will be a new announcement soon about the Blue Bloods series. But I want fans to enjoy the finale first though!

One thing readers don't know about you? I get my hair cut at the super-fancy Serge Normant salon on Melrose but I get my blowouts at the local Fantastic Sam's! It's my secret blowout place. My friends always make fun of me for that. "You are way too glamorous for Fantastic Sams!" But no one is too glam for Sam!

Thank-you so much for taking the time to answer these questions! I just want to say on behalf of every Blue Blood bookworm fan, thank-you so much for writing this amazing series! The characters and world you have created will always have a special place in my heart and on my bookshelf! It's bittersweet to see the series end!
