Perfect for the fans of Shatter Me who are desperately awaiting the release of Unravel Me, this novella-length digital original will bridge the gap between these two novels from the perspective of the villain we all love to hate, Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.
In Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she’ll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of. . .
Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.
Set after Shatter Me and before its forthcoming sequel, Unravel Me,Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

     Destroy Me is a novella  that takes place after the events in Shatter Me, where we get a rare opportunity to get a glimpse into Warner's head. I have to admit that although I didn't absolutely love Warner in Shatter Me, I didn't absolutely hate him either because I felt like there was more to his character-- and boy was I right!

     Destroy Me really helps us understand Warner's character a lot better and I think because of that, a lot of  readers will switch sides and start rooting for Team Warner. Warner is the dictionary definition of a tortured soul--we get a real feel for the abusive relationship between him and his father, and how that has resulted in him being the man he is today. In addition, Warner made me swoon over and over again when his thoughts drifted towards Juliette. His desperation to find her and realization of how in love with her he really is made for some  endless sighing on my part. Warner definitely has a way with words!

Favourite Quotes...

“I almost forget that she still hates me, despite how hard I've fallen for her.

And I've fallen.
So hard.
I've hit the ground.”

~~~~~
“Because I want her.
Now.
Here.
Everywhere.
I want nothing between us.
I want her clothes off and the lights on and I want to study her. I want to unzip her out of this dress and take my time with every inch of her.”
~~~~~

“This girl is destroying me.”

Overall...

     Overall, there really isn't any major plot points in this 103 paged novella that you won't find out in Unravel Me- in fact, there's actually a bit of overlap between the novella and the second book. Although Destroy Me simply just helps us connect with Warner, I think it's an important novella for Shatter Me fans to read before Unravel Me. Having a bit of backstory on Warner's character will help you better appreciate book two *coughs* Chapter Sixty-Two *coughs* ;) Have you read Destroy Me? What do you think about Warner's character? Be sure to let me know in the comments below! Keep Reading!
