it's almost
time for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.
She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.
Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible. In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.

     Unravel Me is the second instalment in author Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me series. Unravel Me starts off where Shatter Me ended-- Juliette, Adam and Kenji have escaped The Reestablishment and are now at Omega Point. Juliette is starting to learn how to harness her energy so she can help Omega take down The Reestablishment. Things don't prove to be so easy at Omega Point though, especially when Juliette finds out Adam has a power of his own...a power that threatens their relationship.

     Once again, Tahereh's writing style absolutely captivated me. I'll admit it was a little hard to get used to at the beginning, but once I did I couldn't get enough of it! The writing is just absolutely beautiful and unique! In addition to the writing, the actual plot of Unravel Me was filled with action, and unpredictable surprises! Unravel Me is most certainly a page turner!

     After reading Shatter Me, I wasn't really sure which side I was on in regards to Team Adam or Team Warner, but I was definitely leaning towards Adam territory. But I'll be damned, Tahereh somehow (don't ask me how) made me sprint on over to Team Warner-- I'm so dedicated to this team, that I'm ready to start handing out Team Warner flyers and mugs! Although there were some really intense and absolutely romantic moments between Juliette and Adam, there was something, at least in my opinion, so much more between Warner and Juliette (and I'm not just saying that because of Chapter Sixty-Two......okay, maybe a little bit but that's not the point)! Getting an inside look into Warner in Destroy Me and then uncovering more about his character in Unravel Me has made me seen his character in a new light! Warner knows all of Juliette's secrets, she doesn't have to be afraid that he will one day fear her, and because of that I think he's the only one that can truly make Juliette feel loved and accepted. In other words, I feel Warner helps Juliette to really come in to her own person as an individual whereas with Adam I feel Juliette becomes more dependant on him than herself.

     I'm sure you guys have heard all about chapter sixty-two but....holy crap on a cracker in July....*fans herself* It's off-the-charts steamy! ....SO steamy, I'm having a hard time processing it all because I swear I can't stop blushing. I'm not even saying this because of the, let's call it "physical communication" that goes on (even though, yeah, that's prettyyyy awesome HOT  too ;) but it's also the intense emotions, chemistry and sexual tension!  I've got chills bookworms! CHILLS! ...I'm also starting to speculate that Warner is a master poet in disguise because, like I said in my review for Destroy Me, that boy has got a way with words!

     THANK-YOU Kenji! In Unravel Me, Kenji really takes the role of being Juliette's closest friend, and provides much needed comic relief. More importantly, Kenji wasn't afraid to knock some sense into Juliette! You know when you get really frustrated with a heroine when they start to become whiney and all, "life hates me?" Well have no fear, Kenji gives Juliette a nice, big serving of tough love when she starts entering this "emotional danger mode." And thank goodness for that because I was on the verge of getting annoyed with Juliette's mopping at one point!

Favourite Quotes...

“I want so many things,” he whispers. “I want your mind. Your strength. I want to be worth your time.” His fingers graze the hem of my top and he says “I want this up.” He tugs on the waist of my pants and says “I want these down.”

~~~~~
"Do you like Shakespeare?" he asked.
An odd segue.
I shake my head. "All I know about him is that he stole my name and spelled it wrong."
~~~~~

"I want you," he says. He says "I want all of you. I want you inside and out and catching your breath and aching for me like I ache for you."

Overall...

     Overall, Unravel has left me feeling three things. 1) Warner is perfect for Juliette ! 2) I feel like there's going to be some extra bad ass-ness in Juliette's character in book three. 3) Thinking about how long I have to wait for the next book is making me want to go in a corner and cry :'( Unless your opposed to extra doses of action, swooning, and pure awesomeness-- you're going to LOVE Unravel Me ! Unravel Me has lit a spark in this series that makes me ready to find out what's next for these characters. Have you read Unravel Me? Team Adam or Team Warner? Be sure to let me know in the comments below! Keep Reading!

  1. I LOVED LOVED LOVED Unravel Me. I was an emotional wreck by chapter 15 and while I WANT to be team adam, Warner has crept into my heart. I think it takes a talented author to portray the "bad" character to be so damn lovable. I mean in most triangles you might feel a little pull to the opposite side for like one chapter but you always go back to who you know the heroine goes to, and in Unravel Me. Well. I am not to sure how it will....unravel. (Yeah, I went there :)

    And yay for Kenji! I really liked his character in Shatter Me and I'm glad to hear he provides even more comic relief in this one.
    AWESOME review Caitlin! I can't wait to get my hands on this book now! And I'm super curious to see this swoon-worthy side of Warner... :3
