Memory Lane Monday: The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Yes, it is that time of the week. The day we dread and wish would never come- Mondays. *Wipes tear* But have no fear, Memory Lane Monday is here! Every Monday, here at TheYABookworm, I'll do a special post called Memory Lane Monday. What's that you ask? Memory Lane Monday is a once-a-week post where I (or any other bloggers that wish to participate)  choose one book that I've previously read to be featured on that day. From the book chosen, I will pick two of my favourite quotes and write a little blurb containing my quick thoughts on the book. The books that I choose will not be books I've reviewed- since I've read so many books, I want to share with you my opinions on ones that I won't get the chance to fully review (because seriously, rereading dozens of books would take a year...or two)! Be sure to participate by leaving your "Memory Lane Monday" in the comments, or a link to your blog post with the hash-tag #YAMemoryLaneMonday on twitter :D

This Week's Memory Lane Monday...

Mara Dyer once believed she could run from her past.
She can’t.
She used to think her problems were all in her head.
They aren’t.
She couldn’t imagine that after everything she’s been through, the boy she loves would still be keeping secrets.
She’s wrong.
In this gripping sequel to The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, the truth evolves and choices prove deadly. What will become of Mara Dyer next?

Top Two Favourite Quotes...                                                           #1 “If I were to live a thousand years, I would belong to you for all of them. If we were to live a thousand lives, I would want to make you mine in each one.”
#2  “I'm not sure you can appreciate how much I want to lay you out before me and make you scream my name.”
The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin is the second installment in the Mara Dyer trilogy. I was planning on doing a full review for this book, but because I'm a little behind in the review department, I decided to feature it on this Memory Lane Monday.

The one thing I recall really emphasizing about The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer a couple weeks ago was how beautifully dark, unique and creepy it was! I was so terrified glad to see that the creepy got creepier in Evolution! The plot is just so eerie and addicting, I love it! I will say though that there are a few particular scenes that have made me unable to look at a doll the same way again 0_o ....

When I first started reading Unbecoming, I didn't hold back on twitter and instagram about my love for Noah! Turns out there are a lot of you Noah fans out there, and all I kept getting told was, "He gets even better in book two!" I hoped for this to be true, but I honestly couldn't see how perfection could possibly be improved on....but it did....and I have no words to describe the kind of swooning that went on! The confident guy in Unbecoming becomes a little bit more vulnerable and a whole lot sexier with the discovery of Noah's little secret. All in all, Mara and Noah fans won't be disappointed with Evolution!

Overall, The Evolution of Mara Dyer was some how better than the first, and I am dying to get my hands on the last installment in the Mara Dyer trilogy. If you haven't yet read Unbecoming or Evolution of Mara Dyer, do not wait -- just go for it! Have you read The Evolution of Mara Dyer? Do you now have an unhealthy fear of dolls, lol? Be sure to let me know in the comments below! Keep Reading!

  3. If I didn't have a fear of dolls before, I certainly do now. But really, let's talk about DAT ENDING. O__o
I'm still super confused about what Mara is, but all that pales in comparison to how much I need to know is one of my favorite characters is okay.
