Memory Lane Monday: Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

Yes, it is that time of the week. The day we dread and wish would never come- Mondays. *Wipes tear* But have no fear, Memory Lane Monday is here! Every Monday, here at TheYABookworm, I'll do a special post called Memory Lane Monday. What's that you ask? Memory Lane Monday is a once-a-week post where I (or any other bloggers that wish to participate)  choose one book that I've previously read to be featured on that day. From the book chosen, I will pick two of my favourite quotes and write a little blurb containing my quick thoughts on the book. The books that I choose will not be books I've reviewed- since I've read so many books, I want to share with you my opinions on ones that I won't get the chance to fully review (because seriously, rereading dozens of books would take a year...or two)! Be sure to participate by leaving your "Memory Lane Monday" in the comments, or a link to your blog post with the hash-tag #YAMemoryLaneMonday on twitter :D

This Week's Memory Lane Monday...
Iron Daughter By: Julie Kagawa

Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.                                                                                                                              Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.
Top Two Favourite Quotes...
#1 “Forgive me," Ash murmured, and I heard the faintest of tremors beneath his voice. "But I can't... I won't... give her up. Not now, when I've just found her."

#2 “Don't leave," I whispered, tightening my hold. "Never leave me again. Stay with me. Forever." The winter prince smiled, a small, easy smile, and lowered his lips to mine. "I promise."

This series is a HUGE addiction for me-- every time I'm feeling like I'm in a bit of a swoon let-down mood, I open my Iron Fey books and I suddenly am all better! Usually it's because Ash says something completely  perfect that makes me incapable of forming normal thoughts......<--- true story right there....

I continued to be drawn into the Iron world Julie Kagawa created. The dynamic between Meghan, Ash, Puck and even Grimalkin is electric and hilarious, these characters together form one of my favourite fictional power-groups! It was frustrating to see Meghan sometimes question a certain character's true intentions *cough cough* Ash *cough cough*, but other than that, somehow this book made me fall harder in love with this series...and I didn't think that was even possible!

I'm going to keep this Memory Lane Monday short because if I keep going, all you'll be reading is me fan-girling over how perfect Ash and Meghan is...which now that I think about, wouldn't be so bad....*sighs* Have you read Iron Daughter? Are you as Ash obsessed as I am or are you more of a Puck kind of girl? ;P Be sure to let me know in the comments below! Keep Reading!

    1. Do it! Seriously, I had them sitting on my shelf for a while before I started with the first book and I never looked back! Ended up spending a week devouring them all! =D
