Memory Lane Monday: Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Yes, it is that time of the week. The day we dread and wish would never come- Mondays. *Wipes tear* But have no fear, Memory Lane Monday is here! Every Monday, here at TheYABookworm, I'll do a special post called Memory Lane Monday. What's that you ask? Memory Lane Monday is a once-a-week post where I (or any other bloggers that wish to participate)  choose one book that I've previously read to be featured on that day. From the book chosen, I will pick two of my favourite quotes and write a little blurb containing my quick thoughts on the book. The books that I choose will not be books I've reviewed- since I've read so many books, I want to share with you my opinions on ones that I won't get the chance to fully review (because seriously, rereading dozens of books would take a year...or two)! Of Poseidon By: Anna Banks

Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...

I am here once again with another "mermaid" novel, and I'm telling you, all of the mermaid novels I've read so far have been great (Including Of Poseidon)! Like many of the books I have on my TBR shelf, I have heard really great things about this one and was happy to find that I really enjoyed Of Poseidon. It's fun, romantic, witty and filled with lovable characters.

The main character Emma and her love interest, Galen are both characters that I found entertaining, strong and likable. Of Poseidon is told in both Emma and Galen's POV and although I was worried this would take the mystery out of the Syrena world, I ended up finding it very interesting to read from two very different perspectives: human and syrena. In addition, the strong chemistry between Emma and Galen  made me absolutely desperate to see them turn into a romantic couple! Galen's sister Rayna  and her love interest  Toraf also provided lots of laughs and became characters I really cared about over the course of the novel. 

There's lots of great things within Of Poseidon's pages, including an emotional beginning, new discoveries and a cliffhanger ending that will make you thankful that the second novel, Of Triton, is already in stores.
