Jodi knows that any slip-ups made by the Ophi--a special group of necromancers born under the 13th sign of the zodiac--will fall on her shoulders... and that Hades is just waiting for them to screw up so he can wipe out the Ophi line.
Unfortunately, Jodi has only convinced one Ophi to join her school: A hot guy named Chase who jeopardizes her relationship with Alex. Jodi loves Alex, but Chase can enhance her powers with just a touch—making her stronger than any Ophi has ever been.
Her mixed emotions send her powers surging out of control, and the dead start rising without her conscious summoning—exactly what Hades doesn't want! If she chooses Alex over Chase, she may lose the battle to Hades, leading the Ophi race to extinction. If she chooses Chase, she might be able to stop Hadesu for good… but lose everything else.
Jodi needs to figure things out fast--because death is stalking her at every turn.

Stalked By Death is the second installment in the Touch By Death series by author Kelly Hashway. I went into this sequel really excited because the ending of Touch of Death was so promising and, although there was one element that had me cringing, the novel as a whole held my attention and ended in a way that has me going crazy for book three. Seriously, the ending makes you wonder how in the world these characters are going to get out of the mess they've gotten themselves into!

Jodi is now in charge of an Ophi school to train Ophi and is working hard to keep her end of the deal  she made with Hades. Any mistake will mean an end to the Ophi line, and with no one joining her school but one gorgeous boy, Jodi is struggling to keep Hades happy as she starts to loose control of her powers. However, this gorgeous boy named Chase is stronger than any Ophi Jodi has met before, and being with him might just mean creating an army strong enough to take on Hades.

When I read the synopsis for Stalked by Death, I have to say I was a little disappointed to find out there was a love triangle. I mean, it wasn't a huge surprise seeing this is a pattern with most YA trilogies but I still find myself crossing my fingers, hoping that maybe just maybe I won't have to go through the torture of another one. Mind you, the love triangle in Stalked By Death is different  from many of the love triangles I've read in the past but it was equally as frustrating. Love triangles can frequently change my opinions on the main character, and although for the first half of the book I was beyond annoyed with Jodi's back and forth behavior  as more and more secrets were revealed I was able to forgive her.

Before even starting Stalked By Death I did not like Chase's character at all. He was a threat to Alex and Jodi and I shamelessly say that I wanted him eliminated! Chase comes into the picture as an extremely good looking male that seems like a nice guy that is very attracted to Jodi. From the very first meeting, Jodi in return seems to have a fascination over Chase (this is what caused my frustration towards Jodi because it was difficult to support her when she was feeling those kinds of emotions for someone that isn't her boyfriend). However  without hinting at too much, all I'm going to say is Chase isn't what he seems *cues dramatic 'shocked face' :O*

Although I totally understood Alex's hurt and bitterness towards Jodi's behavior around Chase, his jealousy did at times come off as babyish. Luckily this didn't interfere with my love for Alex-- I was a complete supporter of Team Alex throughout the entire duration of the novel. Fellow Team Alex fans will be relieved to hear that the swoony Alex and Jodi scenes do not at all disappear, if anything, I feel like there's more of them in Stalked By Death than the first one!

Overall...
Overall, Stalked By Death is a sequel fans can't miss! The stakes are higher than ever with shocking twists, hot kisses, the hunger for power and disguised evil fueling the need to keep flipping pages! The wait for book three, Face of Death, will  not be fun one. Have you read Stalked By Death? What is your thoughts on love triangles?  Be sure to let me know in the comments below! Keep Reading!

  1. Thank you so much for such a great review! Can I admit something I haven't told any readers? I HATE Chase. Hate him. I've never hated a character so much, especially one I created. lol I know everyone sees this as a love triangle, but honestly, I never viewed it that way—maybe because I don't like Chase. ;)

Thanks again. I'm so glad you enjoyed the book.
