Memory Lane Monday: Bitter Sweet Love by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Yes, it is that time of the week. The day we dread and wish would never come- Mondays. *Wipes tear* But have no fear, Memory Lane Monday is here! Every Monday, here at TheYABookworm, I'll do a special post called Memory Lane Monday. What's that you ask? Memory Lane Monday is a once-a-week post where I (or any other bloggers that wish to participate)  choose one book that I've previously read to be featured on that day. From the book chosen, I will pick two of my favourite quotes and write a little blurb containing my quick thoughts on the book. The books that I choose will not be books I've reviewed- since I've read so many books, I want to share with you my opinions on ones that I won't get the chance to fully review (because seriously, rereading dozens of books would take a year...or two)!      Okay, so two things I want to address before I get into things. One, I am incredibly sorry for the pathetic lack of posts last week-- unfortunately, school right now is getting "start panicking" busy, so when I'm not studying and working on school projects, I'm face-planting the floor in hopes I'll hurt myself in a way that will refrain me from having to do more studying and project work......just kidding.....sorta.....Anyhoo, as a result of the craziness that is my life right now, this week is going to be pretty slow as well HOWEVER something special will be starting on Saturday. For readers who were following me last year, you might remember a little "event" I did before Christmas called 12 Days of Bookmas! I'll be doing bookmas again this year, meaning there will be a new post everyday filled with fun lists, discussions, and a special bookmas giveaway! Be sure to stay tuned! 

     This brings me to my next point, although Bitter Sweet Love doesn't in anyway fall into the "past" category (seeing as it just came out last week), I'm going to do it anyway ;P I'll start off by saying that if you haven't heard of Jennifer L. Armentrout before, you SERIOUSLY need to join the party and pick up one of her many awesome novels-- seriously, any of them because they are all that good! I read Bitter Sweet Love in no time at all (and it's not just because its a novella--I just couldn't put it down)!

     This short novella focuses on Jasmine (Jas for short) and Dez, who through the course of 105 pages take a journey in attempts to fix their relationship. Although they were best friends for years, Dez one day leaves Jas out of the blue, and with his sudden return three years later, Jas has a hard time forgiving him. I really loved the chemistry these two had, so much so, that I became slightly disappointed when I remembered they aren't the main characters of the series, that is, until I met Roth (who by the way, I think I may already be drooling over)! We also get the chance to meet two other main characters from White Hot Kiss named Layla and Zayne , and so far I'm betting there's going to be a love triangle going on....sigh.....I think I'm dedicated to #TeamRoth already!

     Bitter Sweet Love is a great little glimpse into the gargoyle world-- I love the fact that this prequel actually came out before the first novel because typically novellas are released mid-way into a series! I'm assuming Jas and Dez are going to play some sort of big role in the rest of the series, so I highly recommend picking this one up and getting to know them-- White Hot Kiss (aka February 25th 2014), here I come!!
