Memory Lane Monday: If I Stay by Gayle Forman

Have you heard about the new format?

Memory Lane Monday will now consist of five simple questions I will answer about a book I haven't reviewed. Most likely this will be books that have been out for a year+ or novellas that I feel are too short to dedicate an entire review to.

So, without further ado, let's get started!

~~~~~
This week's Memory Lane Monday is....
If I Stay By: Gayle Forman
1) You've got five words! Describe the book!
An emotional romance with death.
2) Pick a quote. Any quote.
“Sometimes you make choices in life and sometimes choices make you.”
^ I just had to pick this one....It really hit me when I read it
3) Hit, Miss or Meh?
Hit! With the release of the movie being August 22nd, now is most definitely the time to pick this book up if you haven't already!  I put off reading it for the longest time and only finally decided to read it a couple of months ago.....needless to say, I have become a huge Gayle Forman fan since then! I've even read her other series, "Just One Day" (which, FYI,  is also amazingly beautiful as well)!
4) Best or Worst Quality...
Best Quality: The fact that you get to go back and forth from past to present!
5) Most Memorable Character...
The obvious choice would be Mia, but for this one I'll go with Adam.  He's the love interest in the novel but it's clear he also experiences a lot of pain of his own.
It seems pretty silly to ask this (because this is such a popular book) but have you read If I Stay?  Are you looking forward to the movie? Be sure to let me know in the comments below!  Keep Reading!
  2. I was brought to tears when I completed reading Gayle Forman's "If I Stay" lately. The conflict the main character faces between life and death is expertly and poignantly portrayed by the author. The tale is made more complex by the examination of family relationships and the impact of music. All in all, an engaging book that sticks with you. I heartily suggest this book to anybody looking for a meaningful and thought-provoking read. And hey, if you want to take a vacation from fiction, think about reading up on some thought-provoking subjects like psychology or philosophy. You don't have to buy dissertation abstract unless that's your thing!
