This Week's Question...
What is the BIGGEST word you've seen used in a book lately - that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.
There's literally a gigantic list I could come up with from words I found in my English class this semester! But in my day-to-day reading I don't usually find many words that stump me (because I'm usually always reading Y.A.) but here's some words in particular that gave me this look ---> 0_o
Malarkey: meaningless talk, nonsense
Manta: a devil ray that occurs in tropical seas and may reach a very great size
Masochistic: the tendency to derive sexual gratification from one's own pain or humiliation
Aha...the last one made me laugh when I was looking it up :p If your curious to know where the words I listed come from, I came across them in The Lure of Shapinsay by Krista Holle (I'm hoping to have a review up this weekend *fingers crossed*)!
What word(s) made you go 0_o? Be sure to let me know in the comments! See you next Friday!

ReplyDeleteI haven't had too many difficult words lately, like to think its because I am smart, but I can be forgetful of my definitions as well!

I know! Plus, there isn't many "big" words in Y.A. fiction so it's very rare for me to be stumped on a word. Happy Saturday!
DeleteI know those ones, I just want to do a happy dance. I was beginning to think I didn't know any words LOL.
